Foaled in late February of 1999, Baske Afire is a bay son of Leading All-Time Arabian Sire Afire Bey V (Huckleberry Bey++ x Autumn Fire by *Bask++). His dam, Mac Baske (Baskevich x AH Meditation by Meridian) was the 1999 Canadian National Champion English Pleasure Horse and was U.S. Reserve National Champion twice, once in Junior English Pleasure and once in English Pleasure Amateur 18-39. His maternal grandsire, Baskevich (*Bask++ x Daalda Panama) was a U.S. and Canadian National Top Ten Park and is also the sire of multiple national winners in the English pleasure and Park divisions. Baske Afire also has three crosses to the immortal *Bask++, leading Arabian Breed sire of national winners for over thirty years.
Most of Baske Afire’s current winning Half-Arabian get are out of American Saddlebred mares, and many of his winning purebreds are out of daughters of *Bask sons and grandsons, including The Chief Justice, Brass, Wisdom, Zodiac Matador and Cytosk. Baske Afire also crosses extremely well with the daughters of A Temptation, Hey Hallelujah, Promotion, El Ghazi, GG Jabask and MHR Nobility to name just a few.
Baske Afire is a sire of great stretchy, athletic Arabians. In addition to their obvious ability to collect and trot, he sires great Arabian type, size, balance, strong hindquarters and excellent tail carriage. He creates show horse attitude and show-stopping charisma, a quality he possesses to a spectacular degree. Perhaps most distinctive among Baske Afire’s attributes is his stunning ability to sire the long, high-set necks so greatly sought after and coveted by Arabian horse breeders. His dynamic consistency in this one genetic feat could very well be his most lasting breed legacy.
